연구분야는 19세기 영국문학 및 의료인문학으로, 문학 연구와 의료 문화사, 비판적 인종 연구, 장애학을 아우르는 학제간 연구를 통해 건강 및 의료 담론에서 시민주체성이 구성되는 방식을 밝히는 데 관심이 있다. 출판 논문으로는 “The Rhetoric of Hydropathy and Lay Medical Agency in Mid-Nineteenth-Century Britain” (Literature and Medicine 39.1, 2021), “Vegetarian Evolution in Nineteenth-Century Britain” (Journal of Victorian Culture 26.4, 2021), 「19 세기 영국 백신반대 부모의 시민 됨과 “매독 아이”」 (인문논총 79.4, 2022), “The Last Englishman: National Belonging and the Outbreak Narrative in Mary Shelley’s The Last Man” (영미문학교육 25.2, 2021)이 있고, Walter Besant: The Business of Literature and the Pleasures of Reform (Liverpool UP, 2019)에 공저자로 참여하였다. 백신 반대 운동, 수치요법(hydropathy), 채식 등 대체 의료 행위의 문화적 재현을 살펴봄으로써 19세기 영국 사회에서 의료 자유 담론이 형성된 방식과 그 의미를 탐구하는 책 출판을 준비 중이다. 2020년 Research Society of Victorian Periodicals의 Curran Fellowship을 수상했다.
