Hyunyang Lim is a medievalist and teaches College English courses and English Writing for Majors. Literacy and written communication are her primary focus of research, which she has gradually expanded to include late medieval English scribes and vernacular authorship. She has also contributed articles on discursive construction of gender in medieval and early modern English literature and society. Her recent publications include “Medieval Misogyny, Prostitution, and Chaucer’s Shipman’s Tale” (JMEMES, vol. 29, no. 2, 2019), “ ‘In argument with men’: Dalila, Drama, and Masculine Heroism in Milton’s Samson Agonistes” (JMEMES, vol. 28, no. 1, 2018), and “The Man of Law’s Reading of Chaucer: The Readers and Scribes of Late Medieval Vernacular Literature” (Foreign Literature Studies, no. 68, 2017).
