Chang Yong Sohn specializes in the history of the English language and English phonology. His particular interest is in the reconstruction of the sound system of earlier Englishes on the basis of diachronic and synchronic evidence and the investigation of principles governing language change. He is also interested in exploring the interface between morphology and phonology from the diachronic perspective.
