Seung-Hyun Kim specializes in the British novels of the 20th and 21st centuries. Kim’s study examines how past events of violence are remembered and represented in modern and contemporary British historical novels, especially in relation to the problem of gender and sexuality. Her research interests include historical novels, memory narratives, gender and sexuality studies, narrative theory, and ethical criticism. Kim’s doctoral dissertation is “Reconfiguring Untidiness: The Ethics of Remembering History in Novels by Virginia Woolf, D. M. Thomas, and Ian McEwan.”
