“Let Them Study His Memories": Posthuman mimesis and Intersubjective Memory in Kogonada's After Yang

 Kogonada’s sci-fi film After Yang (2021) portrays the process of tracing and mourning the posthumous memory of the android Yang, blurring the boundary between human and machine memory. Drawing on Nidesh Lawtoo’s “mimetic posthumanism,” which redefines mimesis as a generative and transgressive concept moving beyond mere imitation, this research explores how posthuman memory functions as an intersubjective site where affect is transmitted through relational connections.
