Shin Hyoung Cheol specializes in modern Korean poetry. His main research interest is on the politics of Korean modernism poetry, focusing on Yi Sang and Kim Soo-young. While intervening contemporary literary and cultural sites, he has published four books, including “Ethica of the Downfall”(2008). His recent research interest includes a comparative literary approach to Kim Soo-young’s literature, a methodology of ethical criticism, and the postcritical turn in literary studies.
